How to scan a Pokémon card to know its value
June 30, 2026
Short answer: install Poke - Deck, point your camera at the card, and the app identifies it and shows its market value — in English, French and Japanese — in about a second.
No more typing the name, hunting for the right edition, or comparing listings by hand: the scan does the identification for you.
The steps
- Open Poke - Deck and place the card in the frame.
- Tap to scan. The AI reads the name, language and collector number.
- Read the price. The app shows the current value (Cardmarket, eBay) for the card’s own market, plus PSA 9 / 10 graded comparables.
- Add it to a collection to track its value over time.
Why scanning beats manual search
The same artwork often exists in several versions (different set, number, rarity), and each has a different value. By reading the collector number straight off the card, scanning avoids edition mix-ups — the number-one cause of bad estimates.
French and Japanese cards
Unlike most scanners, Poke - Deck also recognises French and Japanese cards, including Japan-exclusive sets, and prices each on its own market.
You start free with 25 scans, no commitment.
