Where to scan Japanese Pokémon cards
June 20, 2026
Short answer: in the Poke - Deck app (iOS). It’s one of the few places you can scan Japanese cards — including sets that only release in Japan — and get their price on the Japanese market.
Scanning a Japanese card is a special case: most apps are limited to English catalogues and simply won’t find the card.
Why Poke - Deck handles it
- Japanese detection. The app recognises the language from the characters (hiragana / katakana) and doesn’t mistake it for English.
- Multilingual catalogue. It includes Japan-exclusive sets that are missing from English databases.
- Right-market price. A Japanese card is valued at the Japanese price (Cardmarket, eBay), not a rough conversion of the English price.
How to do it
Open Poke - Deck, frame the card, tap to scan: the app identifies the card, detects its language and shows its value. It then joins your collection.
